    Question

How can you tell when your clutch maybe goung bad ... will it give an odor ? ... my engine seems to make good power in all gears ..but for some reason it doesn't feel like it's pulling good in second gear anymore.
If it is a clutch problem ... what is a good clutch pressure plate setup ?
    Thanks

The only problem you clutch could have is if it is starting to slip. You will know this because if you floor it, the RPMS will climb but you speedo will not. (or the speedo will not climb at the same rate as the tach).

Thats kinda how I feel the car is acting .. like the speed does not pick up as fast as the rpm ... but I am not getting any odor, I figured if the clutch was slipping I would maybe smell a burning odor ...

no, not necessarily. a good way to test the theory is to find a steep hill and while going up the hill switch to a high gear, say 3rd/4th gear going ~25-30mph, rev the motor up and drop the clutch and floor it.

If the clutch does grab within 0.5sec, then you know what the problem is.

Thanks .. I appreciate your feed back ..
And your experiment for testing the clutch sounds like a good one ...
except ... I live in S.TX on the coast... and the tallist hills we have around here are sand dunes ... lol ..
But ... thanks for the suggestion anyway ... I'm gonna look into buying a new clutch ...how are ACT clutch and pressure plates .. good? ... bad ? ....
